ABOUT

Landing somewhere between My Bloody Valentine’s poppiest moments, Wavves least bratty missives, the result is something like if Nirvana had had a surf rock phase.

Pink Mexico is: Robert Preston Collum, Grady Walker and Ian Everall with an alternating cast of musicians including; Paul Blackwell (vocals, guitar), John Barber (vocals, guitar) with occasional drum sit-ins by Alan Cage (Quicksand).

Stereogum referred to Pink Mexico as "Queens band Pink Mexico make heavy-hazy fuzz-rock that fits nicely into the recent grungegaze wave." To be truthful, Pink Mexico's many iterations and evolutions have come as a direct reflection of the band’s own frontman, singer-songwriter Robert Preston Collum. Since the inception of the band in 2013, New York-based band Pink Mexico has garnered local and national attention, playing alongside Honus Honus, Bass Drum of Death, A Place to Bury Strangers, The Dwarves, and Teen Mortgage, to name a few.

The project, spearheaded by Collum, has created a collection of heavy garage rock-distorted and reverb-filled songs throughout its five full-length releases to date: pnik mexico (2013), Fool (Big Tomato Records, 2016), DUMP (Little Dickman Records, 2019), Idiot Piss Illiterate (Broken Clover Records, 2020) and MIRRORHEAD (7V Records, 2024).

In addition to these releases, Pink Mexico will be releasing their 6th LP entitled ‘what movie ends like this?’ in the early spring of 2026 on Sonic Rising Records.
